Hospice Foundation of America and the Hospice Education Network announce a strategic relationship for the hospice market

Washington D.C. September 12, 2007– Hospice Foundation of America (HFA) today announced the development of a strategic alliance with the Hospice Education Network (HEN), an innovative, online training resource developed specifically for hospice programs. “By collaborating with HEN, we will be able to provide hospice programs access to our grief and bereavement resources in streaming video format over the Internet,” said David Abrams, HFA’s President and CEO.

To begin their collaboration, HFA and HEN will offer the hospice industry and other interested professionals and other groups subscription access to HFA’s past annual grief and bereavement teleconferences. The condensed version of these teleconferences will be converted to streaming video format and made available for on-demand viewing by all of a hospice’s staff and volunteers for one low, affordable price. In addition, continuing education credits will be included as part of the program package and will be available for each of the video programs.

“We are delighted that we can use the flexibility of HEN technology to provide hospices and others with access to these excellent programs. By partnering with HFA on this project, we can offer our subscribers an amazing collection of bereavement resources,” said Heather Wilson, President of HEN and Weatherbee Resources, Inc.

Among the programs that will be made available are HFA’s award-winning Alzheimer’s disease program, as well as resources on coping with public tragedy, ethical dilemmas at the end of life, pain management, and sudden loss.

Once the initial project is completed, the HFA and HEN collaboration intends to provide hospices with the best resources for staff and volunteer training.
