The pictures and stories coming from your hometowns have struck the
nation, and we at HFA want to help if you will tell us how. Having endured a
similar situation during Hurricane Andrew, we know that only you are in the
position to tell us what your needs are at this time.
Although our ability to communicate with the hardest hit areas is very
limited or impossible, we ask you to pass along your own requests as well as
those you have had from fellow hospice providers or employees. You may have
had contact or communication with those who have felt the greatest impact,
and we ask you to let us know what their needs are on their behalf.
Be aware that HFA is ready to serve as a resource for your organizations,
and we will do whatever we can to help you with anything, not just
end-of-life related items. We do not know what those things might be, and
we’re not sure of our capabilities, but we have considerable expertise in
mass communications. Our website may serve as a collecting point for
information - perhaps locating missing loved ones; we may be able to help
with personnel issues; and when you are ready we will of course be of
assistance with grief support and counseling. If there is any possibility we
